Purchasing a (restored or unrestored) Classic Car is one thing, but making sure that the car can safely and satisfactorily participate in traffic is another. For that, the car will need to be regularly serviced.
In the Netherlands and other European countries, a yearly MOT/APK/TUV inspection is required, even for Classic Cars. The relevant Main Dealer is generally not the best place to do this: the specific knowledge and parts availability of the older models is not always readily available anymore. But most importantly, there tends to be a lack of interest and passion. We certainly do not lack this interest and passion, but we’re a bit short on the required technical know how and most importantly, time. Both grew up in an age of carburetors and non-catalytic converters, when car were still “real” cars, so to speak.
